Not a perfect film by any means, but some lovely moments to take in on a Sunday afternoon. Will Ferrell shows he is more than just a ham and the support cast put in perfectly satisfactory performances.

Structurally, the film takes too long to get going and then ends before it should (Laura Dern, hint hint). All screenwriting books caution against creating passive protagonists and this film is why. If Nick had DONE more instead of being DONE TO, and if the story began 20 minutes into the actual film, it may have been a far greater piece of cinema.

As I say though, for a Sunday afternoon, there are far less appealing efforts than Everything Must Go.

Testimonials

“I really enjoyed the class. The topics covered in this free class were worth more than what I’ve paid for in classes and workshops that taught me virtually nothing. The EOSEBAT was a huge help! I loved it!"

- Milan Epps

Paul is one of those rare gems who is able to mentor an actor with pertinacity and humanity. You won’t find regurgitated rhetoric In Paul's class and that’s what makes his teachings so inspiring and valuable for the modern actor. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a bloody exceptional teacher!'

- Joanne Willmott

Paul Barry never fails to inspire me when working under his direction and guidance... What makes Paul stand out above the copious amounts of 'acting teachers' and directors around is his ability to think outside the box. Nothing is ever impossible with Paul. Paul's commitment and dedication to his craft is inspiring. He is a breath of fresh air in what is often a stale industry.
