Is synchronicity the simplicity of the universe giving us what we need?

The wise Anthony Robbins said, “The quality of your life is in direct proportion to the amount of uncertainty you can comfortably deal with.” So why don’t we trust that the world is out there to look after us and go for gold?

I’m struggling with this very concept right now. I let all these possibilities of life do their thing when the stakes are low, but when I raise the stakes on the more important aspects of my life I seem to shy away from risk. I want to risk less (perhaps out of fear), and yet the stuff I really want is on the other side of that risky wall. The only way I can get there is if I am game enough to take the challenge. And deep down I actually know that I’m no Humpty Dumpty. I won’t actually break if I climb over.

Now at this point it would be easy to say, but Angela, tsk tsk, the grass is always greener over there. But I am actually talking about choices I can make about my foreseeable acting future that are shaped as a direct influence of how much I am willing to risk. And this is exactly where synchronicity comes into play.

When I take more notice of the triggers and moments that push and pull me in any direction, the signs are always there. It is all good and well to say that this or that could have happened.  If I had the hindsight time machine I’d be sitting on a private beach in Hawaii right now. No, what I mean is the instant where someone is brought into my life at the exact moment I needed to explore another option. I’m talking about success happening with my writing at the exact moment I took a risk but wasn’t sure if I was even on track. I’m talking about new acting opportunities arising in places I hadn’t considered. All of which take place when I’m not afraid to be open to them.

Synchronicity takes place everywhere, but we have to be in tune to it. And I believe it happens more often when risk-taking is involved (the safe stuff, not the dangerous stuff). If we give ourselves up to the idea that, if we want to improve the odds, increase the stakes, and be the success we talk about wanting to be, we have to go for it, I firmly believe the world will look after us. Acting isn’t just about playing it safe. It is about opening our eyes to a wide world of possible options and thoroughly exploring every single one. It is also about shouting on the rooftop how happy you are when the world delivers those little baby synchronicity moments, that then have a knock on effect to something else wonderful happening.

What’s the point of this story – Take a risk, and then notice the amazing miracles that happen when you are open to new possibilities. Do something different, starting today!

And the more we focus on that, the more we will get it.
