Well it has been a long time coming (not that you were probably aware of it), but this new site is the beginning of a whole new conversation.

This year, I came back from shooting a short film and TV pilot in Australia and directing a documentary in Poland to begin work on the new direction of both the Acting 4 Camera website and Acting 4 Camera itself. We immediately set about creating the new set of logos that populate our site, the result of a campaign we ran through 99 Designs. The whole journey has been a winding road with many obstacles, but I feel we are now out of the thickest part of the woods, and on a clear path as far as the eye can (currently) see.

I say that this is the beginning of a new ‘conversation’ because interaction is the key to building anything worthwhile. Whether it be us building relationships with folk who run casting director workshops, professionals offering great services to actors (from camera classes to dialect coaching, headshots and demo reels) or agents and managers themselves, the interaction is what gets things happening. And your interaction with the industry is essential to your success. This year, at Acting 4 Camera, we have dedicated ourselves to helping you make these connections and get things happening. Motion creates e-motion!

This is the year of cutting out the middle-man and getting things done. If you are serious about being ready to go in 2013, the journey begins now. Whether you employ our services or someone else’s we do not care. What we do care about is complacency amongst actors, and we refuse to allow it.

Here’s what we currently offer to get you up and at ’em:

  • Professional Services (From Group, Private, Skype and Dialect Classes to Scene & Monologue Provision and – soon – Demo Reels)
  • A4C Blogs (With topics ranging from selecting the right acting coach to believable acting and inspirational thoughts in between)
  • Guest Blogs (Voice and accent tips, social marketing advice, and help with overcoming pesky rejection)
  • Videos (A ‘virtual classroom’ of material to keep you working, even between classes)
  • Free Registration (Register with us to receive regular updates, discounts on services and literally become a part of the conversation by commenting on blogs, videos and posts)

Shortly, we will be taking submissions from actors to become GUEST BLOGGERS, we will also soon begin work on a very interesting and large-scale ACTOR EXPERIMENT (we’d love your participation) and we have major plans for work creation for the rest of 2012 and solidly into 2013 (keep an eye and an ear out for THE IMBROGLIO PROJECT). If you would like to hear more about it or become a part of our plans, please register, stay in touch and keep having this conversation with us.

Enjoy!

Testimonials

"Your technique does a great job of dispelling the mysteries of how to act and puts it in a coherent, easy-to-understand language. I've been an actor for a long time and it's easy to fall into reliable habits and stop working. The benefit of your technique to me is that it reminds me to try something new."

- Ross Brooks

"Thank you Paul for all the training and guidance. I've managed to score a role in an up coming Australian Feature and they were very impressed by my screen technique. I credit this to the methodology you taught me in our classes. So thank you thank you thank you!!"

- Andy Marsh

Paul is energetic, passionate and generous in the work that he does. As an actor I felt very secure in his classes under his experienced and creative guidance. Paul gave me some really tangible and practical tools to help me move with confidence into the realm of camera after most of my experience was theatre training. I would definitely seek him out to work alongside him in the future.
